Coronavirus in DC

Well I was enjoying being out of Beijing because it turned into a ghost town. The past month in DC had been great, going to museums, restaurants, free concerts. But now the same thing is happening here. First the museums closed and the concerts are canceled. Next coffee shops and restaurants will likely start shutting down. Seems things are going to get worse here before they get better.
Glad we did the Capitol tour last month. Those are of course now canceled indefinitely.

It was only a few weeks ago the coronavirus didn't seem very threatening in the US, and it looked like Bernie had a good shot at being the next president. Above photo and below, Sanders rally in Virginia.

All the Smithsonian museums in DC are shut down, including the art museums and the Air and Space Museum.
The Kennedy Center, which has free evening concerts 365 days of the year, is closed.
Restaurants are still open, but it may only be a matter of time before they start shutting down.

 DC has some great murals.
The cherry blossoms are almost in full bloom 🌸 The Cherry Blossom Festival starts soon, but  many of the events have been canceled because of the pandemic.
