Suzhou: garden city

We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary in Suzhou, a beautiful little city in eastern China, not far from Shanghai.

Hotpots are widely available in China, and great for vegans. You pick out the foods you want and then its cooked for you and served up steaming hot.

Suzhou has numerous large traditional Chinese gardens scattered throughout the city.

The wonderful Taoist Temple of Mystery, in central Suzhou just off the large pedestrian street.(The above photo makes me think of Trump.)

Enjoying Chinese green tea at one of Suzhou's many traditional gardens.

I've heard of ice cream cones and pizza cones, but that's the first time I've come across chicken cones.

Good timing for a visit to Suzhou because there happened to be a large temple festival going on.

For some reason there are Chinese who travel around with stuffed animals.
